Our law group is growing and we are looking for a sharp family attorney who will zealously represent our clients in all areas of family law. You'll assist individuals in a variety of situations such as navigating prenuptial agreements and attending court hearings for divorce, alimony/spousal support, and child support. The prime candidate will have experience with a range of sensitive legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence, and be able to maintain composure, negotiate, and argue effectively even in emotional and high-stress situations. Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for important work, including: •Manage full case-handling responsibilities from inception through resolution •Independently handle decision-making on a case-by-case basis. •Develop a strategic approach and provide leadership and direction to paralegals and legal assistants •Work as part of a team with all levels of experience and be open to cross-training for coverage outside the associate duties. •Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients. •Analyze case-specific legal issues and documentation •Foster and maintain an excellent rapport with clients through consistent communication and thorough advisement •Handle the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings as needed •Organize and maintain client files to ensure they are kept current •Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action •Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients •Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process

Qualifications

•Must have worked in Family Law for at least two years. •Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas •Previous criminal justice or other legal background preferred •Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required •Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations •Proven record of success in advocating for plaintiffs and defendants •Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
