This Senior Accountant position with our growing Financial Services client reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for overseeing the Accounting Department. The role will contribute to the accuracy of the companys financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Additionally, this position will assist in leading the Staff Accountant, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and review loan level data. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and have experience in the mortgage industry. This is a great team with a collaborative environment! Key Responsibilities
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results. Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and prepare financial statement audits. Review general ledger activity for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification. Assist with consolidations, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations. Prepare schedules and documentation to support internal and external financial reporting. Review and assess loan level data and reconcile to the system. Support the Treasury function as required. Collaborate with leadership to provide accounting insight on complex transactions. Perform ad hoc projects and other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required. 3+ years of accounting experience including public accounting or mortgage industry exposure. CPA preferred. Experience with ERP Systems required (e.g. NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar) Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting. Proven experience in general ledger including hands on with month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
