Campus Security Program Assistant
Assists in the direction of the day-to-day operations of the Campus Security program including providing training, creating and overseeing standard security protocols, and building a cohesive team of service-oriented professionals within a student-centered culture. Need 4 years experience in Law Enforcement Wyoming P.O.S.T. Police Officer Standards Training certified police officer or retired officer separated in good standing This is a 3/4 Part-Time position. (Friday, Saturday, Sunday 3:00 pm- 1:00 am) 1. Assists the Campus Security Director in providing a reasonably safe and secure environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors by establishing security methods and implementing prudent risk management strategies, working to support all campus programs related to welfare and safety, responding to security concerns and emergency situations, conducting orientations for the college community with respect to safety and security policies and procedures, providing on-call coverage in the event of an emergency and staying abreast of current industry standards. 2. Assists the Campus Security Director in maintaining a collaborative and coordinated effort with Riverton, Lander, and Jackson Police Departments along with Fremont County Sheriff's Department and other emergency response personnel. Assist area agencies, including law enforcement, fire department, etc. in responding to events, emergencies, etc. on the CWC Main Campus, Equine Center, Lander, Alpine Science Institute, Dubois and Jackson Outreach Centers. Assist emergency services personnel as required and maintain a security presence when reasonable concerns are present to college personnel, students and community members. 3. Assist in the education of employees, students and visitors regarding safety and security while using campus facilities through periodic presentations. 4. Assists Campus Security Director in overseeing the technical applications relevant to safety and security systems including administering alarm monitoring and door locking systems, issuing ID cards to employees, students and guests, setting access levels for key card entry systems, and assisting in the overall use of technology to help aid in maintain a safe environment. 5. Assists the Campus Security Director in operating and maintaining the Rustler Alert system and mass communication system, Altertus. 6. Assists the Campus Security Director in maintaining and managing crisis response and emergency preparedness plans and initiatives campus-wide including coordinating drills. 7. Work with Physical Plant personnel to identify and prioritize facility maintenance, repairs and renovations that affect the safety and security of the campus community. 8. Assists the Campus Security Director in ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Clery Act. This would include investigation of Title IX cases that involve Domestic Violence, Stalking and Sexual Assault. 9. Assists the Campus Security Director in completing and verifying accuracy of Clery report. 10. Assists the Campus Security Director in training Campus Security Interns, students and staff in Safety, Active Shooter and other related areas. 11. Assists the Campus Security Director in managing student disciplinary situations, including investigations, documentation, and follow up as required. 12. Become familiar with campus residents, staff, and routine visitors. 13. Patrol College's housing, main campus buildings, grounds, Equine Center, and Lander Outreach Centers, making general observations, enforcing College polices, providing escorts and responding to events and/or emergencies as appropriate. Record actions and observations in written reports. 14. Attend department and campus meetings as required. 15. Operate within the guidelines set forth in the College's policies, procedures and practices. 16. Perform other reasonably related duties as directed or assigned by the Campus Security Director.
