CEQA/NEPA EnvironmentalProject Manager Southern California
HELIX is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to work out of one of our Southern California offices located in San Diego or Pasadena. This role offers fantastic opportunities for growth and the ability to work on diverse projects the sky is the limit! Youll have the opportunity to prepare CEQA/NEPA compliance and related environmental documents for a wide range of projects including private sector residential, commercial, and industrial development; public plans and programs; water/wastewater, storm water, and energy/utilities facilities; transportation infrastructure; educational facilities; and parks and recreation facilities. To complete this important work, youll have the support of our in-house environmental, biological, landscape architecture, regulatory permitting, cultural resources, acoustical, air quality, habitat restoration, and GIS staff. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong, collaborative relationships among team members, staff, clients, and agencies. This position will be required to work out of one the offices a minimum of three days per week. Responsibilities/Duties Managing small to medium-sized CEQA/NEPA compliance documents (including related technical studies) and assisting in the completion of larger environmental documents Preparing letter proposals and assisting in the preparation of larger proposals, as well as participating in interviews Interacting with clients and reviewing agencies Coordinating effectively with other environmental planning staff, in-house technical specialists, and subconsultants. Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in environmental studies, environmental science, geography, natural science, environmental engineering, public planning, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in the preparation of CEQA and/or NEPA compliance documents. Knowledge of the California environmental and regulatory setting, obtained through directly related work experience within that setting. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language. Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional Qualifications Considered a Plus Masters or PhD degree (or equivalent) in environmental studies, environmental science, geography, natural science, environmental engineering, public planning, business, or a related field. Experience managing the preparation of CEQA/NEPA documents, including managing scopes, budgets, schedules, and deliverables. Experience in leading proposals and business pursuits, and the marketing of consulting services. Extensive work experience within Southern California. Pay will be based on qualifications and/or experience, with a robust benefits package. Expected starting pay range for an Environmental Project Manager I, II or III is $78,750 to $120,000 annually .
