GENERAL DESCRIPTION

:

The Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester (The CAC) seeks an outgoing, engaging, organized, and energetic individual for the position of Events Manager. This position is responsible for the execution of The CAC's fundraising through events, including third party events, outreach, and cultivation throughout the year.

This is a fundraising position focused on revenue generation, sponsor and event participant recruitment, as well as donor and volunteer engagement, cultivation, and stewardship.

Successful candidates will have solid experience managing events, specifically galas, golf tournaments, and other fundraisers. Candidates should possess outstanding relationship management skills and have the ability to work effectively under pressure.

This position manages special events, third party events, cultivation events, and the Development Internship program. The Events Manager coordinates logistics, volunteers, gifts in kind, and the holiday giving program. The Events Manager reports to and works closely with the Director of Development and will have extensive contact with the philanthropic and corporate community, Board members, committee members, and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Possess the ability to speak publicly with knowledge and confidence about The CAC in front of all groups. Ability to project a professional and knowledgeable image on behalf of The CAC. Provides superior customer service to constituents through online support, timely responses to all communications with outstanding follow-through. Perform general administrative responsibilities including data entry, mailings, etc. in alignment with brand guidelines. Must possess a valid driver's license. Other duties as required. Cultivation:

Engage sponsors, event donors and volunteers in agency tours and face-to face meetings with the intent to grow philanthropic relationships for the agency. Actively participate and represent The CAC at networking and community events for education, engagement and cultivation purposes. Financial/Data:

Responsible for achieving revenue, volunteer recruitment, and development goals. Utilize databases and relevant information to create and provide, in a timely manner, necessary reports and analysis related to events, (including third party events), budgets, sponsorship package pricing and other items as may be requested. Work closely with the Finance Department and Director of Development to create budgets and adhere to budgets, expenses, and revenue generating activities, pre- and post-reconciliation of events. Fundraising and Events:

Develop a recruitment and engagement plan to build awareness about The CAC's fundraising events and initiatives. For all events, plan and execute logistics pre-event, day-of, and post-event, including but not limited to: securing event venues, securing sponsorships, management of silent auction items for all events, appropriate permits and insurance certificates, pre-event marketing and advertising (in concert with the Marketing Team), delivery of sponsor benefits and sponsorship fulfillment reports, contracting with vendors, committee oversight, acknowledgement to supporters and other items as may be required. Manage and record all event related in-kind gifts, including silent auction items, and reporting information in a concise manner for database entry as well as being responsible for executing and distributing in-kind acknowledgement letters for all event related in-kind gifts. Oversee, in collaboration with the Client Services Team, the Holiday Giving program. Be present at all major CAC events and as required, third-party events and other fundraising initiatives. Staff/Interns/Volunteers

Supervise the Development Internship program, in collaboration with the Development Coordinator and/or the Marketing and Communications Coordinator. Maintain and grow the volunteer list and provide a volunteer audit to finance annually. Communications

Work closely with The CAC's Marketing Team to develop a marketing and communications plan related to all events, fundraising initiatives and/or third-party events. Create content for event emails, website, invitations, letters (donor request letters) and sponsorship packages. Actively networking on a frequent and consistent basis to create new or grow existing relationships, cultivate donors and brainstorm new ideas for future events. Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

:

Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Project Management, or related field, with two to three years' fundraising experience. Results-oriented professional with experience managing successful large events and fundraising initiatives in a not-for-profit environment or related field. History and experience of presenting and speaking in front of all size groups in a professional manner. Supervisory experience is preferred. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

Proven work experience in a direct supervisory role. Creative thinker who is comfortable successfully juggling multiple tasks and projects. Adept at generating and analyzing event metrics and fundraising strategies. Positive and energetic and leads by example through personal effort and initiative to meet fundraising and sponsorship strategies for events. Exceptional interpersonal, writing, communication and facilitation skills along with the ability to work effectively with many different constituencies. Mission driven with unquestionable integrity. Ability to develop and sustain excellent working relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations. Self-starter who is comfortable working with limited supervision, able to continually find new and cutting-edge ideas surrounding fundraising and cultivation. Must be able to network and possess the inherent ability to adapt to change and be confident presenting, educating, publicly speaking and communicating persuasively about the importance of The CAC's mission. Proficient with computer applications, (Microsoft Office Suite), including word processing, spreadsheets, and database and CRM/event software. Raiser's Edge, Greater Giving and Asana experience is preferred. Ability to travel locally with reliable transportation and work flexible hours on nights and weekends. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to stand for several hours. Ability to lift 40 lbs.
