Job Title: Event Sales Manager - Apex EntertainmentLocation: Marlborough, MA (with oversight of event sales for Marlborough, MA; Albany, NY; Syracuse, NY; and Virginia Beach, VA locations)Reports To: Chief Operations Officer & Director of OperationsAbout Apex Entertainment: Apex Entertainment is a premier family entertainment company delivering fun experiences through attractions, events, and exceptional guest service. We pride ourselves on a collaborative, high-energy environment where innovation, customer focus, and leadership drive success.Position Overview: The Event Sales Manager leads sales operations for all four Apex locations. This role is responsible for managing the call center and sales team, overseeing event booking and planning, ensuring accuracy in event documentation, and meeting revenue sales goals. You will work closely with the location General Managers and event operations teams to move events from inquiry to execution while providing clear guidance, coaching, and management to the sales team.Key Responsibilities:Sales & Event ManagementManage the call center sales team to meet or exceed revenue goals and KPIs including but not limited to:Total Event Revenue & Average Event ValueLead Conversion RatesNumber of Events Booked & Booking Completion RateGuest Satisfaction & Repeat BusinessSales Activity & Response MetricsGuide guests through inquiries, tours, planning, and post-event follow-ups.Prepare, review, and approve Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for accuracy and completeness.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of venue layouts, hours, pricing, promotions, process, building flow, allergy commitments, and packages.Work with location teams to ensure consistent standards for event execution across all locations.Team Leadership & CoachingTrain, onboard, and mentor sales coordinators; provide regular coaching and feedback.Monitor team performance, including calls, emails, and follow-up practices.Encourage accountability and ensure team members follow established sales processes.Provide progressive discipline, Performance Improvement Plans, and terminations when necessary. Guest & Vendor RelationsAct as primary escalation point for guest concerns; resolve complaints professionally.Maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.Coordinate with vendors and the local community for sponsorships and partnerships. Revenue & Financial OversightDrive sales through outbound calls, lead generation, upselling, and promotions.Manage contracts, quotes, invoicing, and collections accurately and on time.Support budgeting processes and track sales against financial goals.Cross-Department CollaborationCommunicate event requirements clearly to operations, corporate, and venue leadership.Provide weekly updates on buyouts and large events that will affect normal hours of operation.Attend and lead weekly BEO and planning meetings.Collaborate with Marketing on packages, promotions, and in-house events.Administrative & Support DutiesManage CRM, online reservations, and event tracking systems.Respond to guest inquiries via phone, chat, and email promptly.Maintain accurate sales reports, spreadsheets, and documentation.Perform additional tasks as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's degree preferred.5+ years of experience in sales and event management, preferably in hospitality or Family Entertainment Centers (FECs).Proficiency with CRM software required; experience with Infor and CenterEdge is a plus.Fluent in English with excellent writing, verbal, and communication skills.Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals and KPIs.Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams, including performance improvement plans and progressive discipline.Experience creating, reviewing, and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs).Experience working with legal counsel on contracts, adjustments, and updates.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Reliable transportation to and from Marlborough, MA.Ability to travel to all four Apex locations, particularly during initial training and as business needs require.Availability to work occasional nights and weekends as business needs require.Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift, carry, or move items up to 50 pounds, in compliance with Massachusetts workplace safety regulations.Professional, courteous, and solution-oriented demeanor.Perks and Benefits:Competitive compensation.Health, Dental, and Vision coverage.401K (after 1 year).Paid Time Off.Free attractions for you and your family.One free manager meal each day you are working on-site.Flexible schedule that allows for work-life balance.
