Join a high performing team in support of a transformational software replacement project for the Washington Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (District and Municipal Courts). We are replacing a legacy Case Management System with a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to improve services for the court and probation customers of AOC. The Courts of Limited Jurisdiction Case Management System (CLJ-CMS) project is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Tester to join a high functioning project team as we implement a statewide case-management system to support the state's district and municipal courts. This position is crucial to support the development and maintenance of systems through testing, defect reporting and analysis, and participation in system implementation. Reporting to the CLJ-CMS IT Supervisor, this position works with a team of QA Testers to provide quality assurance support to the development and maintenance of systems through testing, defect reporting and analysis. Position Details Job #: 2025-58 Status: Project Limited-Duration, Full-Time * Location: Olympia, Washington Salary: Range 68: $84,984 - $111,504 per year (DOQ). Opens: August 20, 2025 Closes: September 7, 2025. AOC reserves the right to close the recruitment at any time but no sooner than seven (7) calendar days after posting. * Duration: This CLJ-CMS project position is currently funded through June 30, 2027. It is anticipated that continued funding will be approved through December 31, 2027. Washington State Residency and Telework Information AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. This position requires one (1) day per week working on site at AOC facilities. Duties and Responsibilities Some of the duties you will perform are: Analyzes system requirements and creates test data, test cases, and test plans to ensure that new and revised systems meet identified customer needs. Plans, documents, evaluates, and tracks testing results to ensure system applications are free from defects. Communicates and collaborates with business analysis and technical staff on issues, changes and enhancements that may affect data, workflow and/or functionality within the COTS software being implemented. Maintains a test documentation library. Performs regression testing on vendor software, including updates and development fixes received from vendor; tests development for data exchanges produced through project software developers. Applies automated testing tools to assess quality of software. Uses technical tools (such as SQL Queries, file managers) to create and manage test data, and analyzes test results. Performs duties as required. Qualifications and Credentials Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business administration, public administration or closely allied field AND Five (5) years of experience working in a complex information technology environment. Ability to manage time and resources to accomplish identified goals and objectives Ability to accomplish work objectives, complete assignments set by supervisor Ability to self-initiate, achieve excellent results with little need for direct oversight Ability to accept personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work Knowledge of computer applications, operating systems, and current technologies available to facilitate product and service delivery for the project Ability to learn new concepts and skills; absorb and retain new information Demonstrated ability to in a combination of the following technology and business areas: Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project Experience using UI Path, LeapWorks or similar automated testing software Experience with business process elicitation methods and documentation of work flow Methodologies and principles of Business Process Engineering (BPE / BPM) Principles of Change Management Quality Assurance methodologies Packaged application systems featuring a high level of configurability to end-user requirements Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methodology Supplemental Information The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs. Overnight travel may be required based on business needs. This position is not overtime eligible.
