Our client is seeking a skilled Briefing Attorney to join their Houston trial team. This position offers the unique opportunity to work on high-stakes civil litigation and personal injury matters from case intake through trial or settlement. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, strategic thinker, and team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys crafting compelling arguments to achieve successful outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with Houston trial team to manage cases from file to trial or settlement. Conduct legal research and analyze case documents across multiple jurisdictions (60% Texas, 20% Louisiana, 20% other states). Draft briefs opposing defendant motions, affirmative motions, and complex demand letters. Prepare trial briefs and provide in-trial legal support 24 times per year (travel required). Regularly communicate with attorneys, clients, and experts to support case development. Track, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines with accuracy. Qualifications: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school. Licensed and in good standing with at least one state bar. Minimum of 2 years' post-law school experience in civil litigation OR 1 year judicial clerkship. Demonstrated experience drafting motions, responses, and appellate briefs. Knowledge of Texas state and federal court procedures; Louisiana or multi-jurisdictional experience a plus. Strong written and verbal communication, research, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a trial team. Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel); Filevine, SharePoint, OneDrive, and TEAMS experience preferred. Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet caseload and court deadlines. Preferred Experience: Plaintiff personal injury litigation. Appellate work and advanced legal writing. Case management from start to finish, including client communication and coordination with experts. Familiarity with Filevine case management software (preferred, not required).
