Apprenticeship And Outreach Coordinator

The Apprenticeship and Outreach Coordinator is a 12-month, full-time staff position located at the Hamlet Campus. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Customized Training and will be responsible for developing and fostering partnerships with employers and training providers to broaden educational opportunities for students. The Coordinator will provide proactive mentorship and support to apprentices, ensure program compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, and play a key role in expanding outreach, recruitment, and training initiatives. Duties and responsibilities of the position include: Register and maintain applications and other program data in the ApprenticeshipNC database. Ensure compliance with the standards of the NC Community College System for Registered Apprenticeship and Pre-Apprenticeship. Coordinate admissions processes and procedures for all apprenticeship students with appropriate college staff and faculty. Mentor and assist apprentices throughout the pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship cycle. Work with businesses to identify in-demand employment opportunities and coordinate with college departments to develop curriculum programs and place students in opportunities through pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship and strategic workforce development initiatives and programs. Collaborate with the Vice President for Instruction, Deans, and Directors to identify appropriate career pathways and develop related instruction plans, including in the high schools, that align to business and industry needs. Collaborate with the Marketing Department to develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive outreach and recruitment plan for students and alumni, including support related events and activities, career fairs, class visits, and open houses. Coordinate and deliver training sessions for apprentices and employers. Conduct employer site visits to monitor activity and ensure apprentices are receiving appropriate on-the-job training and work experiences to fulfill the apprenticeship contract and to assess student and employer satisfaction. Track apprentices' skills development and ensure they meet performance milestones. Provide intervention, advising, resources, and strategies for apprentices to ensure college, academic program, student, and business partner success. Develop, maintain, monitor and report on grants associated with apprenticeship. Prepare paperwork, invoices, and expenditures for apprentices and apprenticeship programs. Participate in College and community events and functions to develop, educate, and recruit employer partners and prospective students. Collaborate with the Dean of Engineering and Trades to establish key performance matrixes that identify employer development goals, enrollment goals, and credentials earned. Promote and represent Richmond Community College at advisory board meetings, conferences, and other functions in relation to Apprenticeship. Complete an annual benchmark project on an individual or group basis. Accept other duties as assigned. Position qualifications include: Knowledge, skills and abilities: Ability to build sustainable relationships with business and industry. Manage time effectively and coordinate multiple task demands. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Customer Service experience, with emphasis on client relations. This position will require some travel and alternate work hours in order to meet the required duties and responsibilities. Minimum education and experience: Associate's Degree is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 3 years of experience working in industry and/or workforce development Demonstrated program development experience is preferred.
