Position Overview: Music Health Alliance (MHA) is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Manager of Development to play a pivotal role in advancing our fundraising efforts and expanding our impact within the music community. This full-time position is responsible for executing MHAs comprehensive fundraising strategy, with a strong focus on sponsorships, grants, donor cultivation, stewardship events, and campaigns. Reporting directly to and working closely with the CEO, the Manager of Development will be a key leader in driving revenue growth, donor engagement, and organizational sustainability. Primary Responsibilities: Fundraising Leadership (75%) Drive and execute MHAs annual fundraising strategy to meet and exceed revenue goals, in collaboration with the CEO and board. Lead face-to-face solicitations, presentations, and relationship-building with prospective and current donors, sponsors, and partners. Manage and grow the annual fund campaign, including direct-mail appeals, digital campaigns, corporate and individual solicitations, and sponsorships. Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations and corporations; ensure timely and accurate grant reporting and stewardship. Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising events (e.g., Juliens Auctions, Annual Event, Heal The Music Day, online campaigns), including acting as liaison with organizers of non-MHA-sanctioned events. Collaborate with the CEO to create, edit, and design compelling fundraising materials, impact reports, and donor appeals. Analyze and innovate fundraising strategies by evaluating current plans, campaigns, and events; recommend and implement improvements or new initiatives to maximize results. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fundraising trends and best practices in the nonprofit and music sectors. Donor Cultivation & Stewardship (25%) Develop and implement a comprehensive donor cultivation and stewardship plan, including donor identification, recognition, and engagement strategies. Establish and grow a junior board to engage the next generation of supporters and advocates. Maintain and leverage the donor database (in partnership with the Manager of Administration) to track gifts, manage donor acknowledgment, and analyze giving trends. Develop and execute relationship management plans for donors at all giving levels, with a particular focus on growing the major donor pipeline. Implement moves management strategies to steward donors through the giving cycle and increase donor retention and lifetime value. Collaborate with the CEO on maintaining and updating organizational profiles on GivingMatters, GuideStar, and other key charitable platforms. Support the development and execution of strategic plans for individual, major, and planned giving. Qualifications Bachelors Degree or higher Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in development, fundraising, or strategic partnerships within the nonprofit sector or music industry. Demonstrated success in grant writing and acquisition, with a proven track record of securing and managing grants. Experience negotiating and closing strategic partnerships that drive revenue and organizational impact. Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and presentation skillsboth written and verbal. Strong project management skills: able to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and with external stakeholders. High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards. Proficiency with technology; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM/database systems a plus. Passion for the mission of Music Health Alliance and the music industry. Creative, strategic, and detail-oriented, with a self-starter attitude and entrepreneurial mindset. Experience with digital fundraising, social media campaigns, or marketing is a plus.
