Provide front line support for local and remote personnel to obtain support for problems involving PC workstation hardware, software, and connectivity to network or telecommunications systems. Monitor service and problem ticket queue in order to assign, respond, and resolve tickets within established SLA timelines. Perform PC desktop support, troubleshoot and repair hardware and software, documentation within the ticketing system, and other technical issues in a timely manner according to SLA standards. Perform account services for customers, including creation and modification of accounts, and establishment of rights and privileges according to standards. Participate in and assist technical project teams. Monitor progress and schedules, ensuring key timelines and milestones are met. Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure project deliverables are aligned with project scope. Coordinate with project staff and other departments to ensure timely resolution of tasks and actions. Provide user support and training in the use of available hardware, software, and utilities. Serve as a resource for remote locations and educate users on new features. Adhere to HHSC computer usage policies as needed. Other duties as assigned, including participation in agency obligations for public health needs, which may require alternate shift patterns or locations. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of network facilities, data processing, PC hardware/software, network operating systems, security software, and performance monitoring tools. Knowledge of and ability to utilize Active Directory tools and structure. Knowledge of SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager). Strong verbal and written communication, troubleshooting, and ability to translate technical terms for non-technical audiences. Ability to analyze and resolve network, workstation, and telecommunications problems. Ability to train others and oversee work of others. Ability to work in a team environment and seek assistance when needed. Ability to move computer and telecommunications equipment. Ability to work beyond standard hours and travel to other work locations as required. Ability to adhere to HHSC Guiding Principles, Code of Ethics, and Universal Expectation for Personal Responsibility. Registrations, Licensure Requirements Or Certifications
N/A Initial Screening Criteria
Experience working with Local Area Networks as well as providing deskside computer support including hardware, software, and peripherals. Preference for additional experience with Wide Area Networks and Active Directory tools. Experience with network services. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in computer science, information systems, or a related field is generally preferred. Education and work experience can be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Must be able to travel and work hours outside normal business hours. Additonal Information
