Responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards within the chemical manufacturing industry. Oversaw safety programs, regulatory reporting, and compliance initiatives while fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship across operations. Key Responsibilities
Developed, implemented, and maintained
Safety Data Sheets, product labels, and OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM)
requirements. Prepared, submitted, and maintained regulatory filings, registrations, and permits with agencies including
EPA, DOT, OSHA, RCRA, SARA, and state/local authorities. Managed environmental reporting such as stormwater, hazardous waste, emissions, and extended producer responsibility requirements. Responded to incident notifications and communicated findings to internal stakeholders. Researched, interpreted, and applied safety/environmental regulations to ensure continuous improvement in compliance and risk reduction. Designed, implemented, and managed EHS programs aligned with company and regulatory requirements. Conducted worker training on
OSHA, HAZCOM, EPA, DOT, and NFPA
standards, ensuring proper safety awareness and adherence. Led accident investigations, identified root causes, and recommended corrective actions to eliminate hazards. Created and updated emergency response plans; coordinated regular drills to ensure readiness. Collaborated with managers and supervisors to assess risk and recommend procedural, process, and equipment improvements. Scheduled and facilitated Safety Team meetings and prepared documentation with recommendations for continuous improvement. Maintained accurate regulatory and safety documentation using compliance software systems. Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, or related field (required). 35 years related experience in chemicals or closely related industry (preferred). Strong knowledge of environmental and safety regulations, compliance reporting, and risk management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with compliance software Excellent communication, leadership, and training skills with strong attention to detail.
