Tool Maker - Direct Employment
We are seeking a highly skilled Tool and Die Maker to join our precision manufacturing team in Hutchinson, MN. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in machining, die fabrication, and prototype development. You will play a critical role in building and maintaining complex tooling systems that support both production and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Fabricate and repair tooling for production and prototype applications Interpret and analyze complex technical drawings and specifications Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure efficient workflow Build and maintain intricate multi-station and progressive dies Diagnose and resolve tooling issues with minimal supervision Ensure precise timing and alignment of die components in production Operate a wide range of equipment including shear, punch, manual machines, grinders, CNC mills and lathes Utilize precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and surface grinders Perform stamping, maintenance repairs, and troubleshooting Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant tool room Required Qualifications: Minimum 57 years of hands-on machining experience Proficiency in lathe, Bridgeport miller, surface and OD grinding, CNC mill, CNC lathe, and wire EDM Experience with Haas, Fanuc, and DMG controls CAD/CAM proficiency, preferably with Solidworks and MasterCam Demonstrated expertise in multi-axis machining (4th and 5th axis) Basic TIG welding experience preferred Strong understanding of metallurgy, cutting speeds, feeds, and heat treatment Ability to read and interpret complex prints and plan full tool builds Excellent communication and collaboration skills Deep knowledge of work holding techniques and safety standards Familiarity with progressive die processes and precision die making Why Join Us: Competitive compensation: $72,800 $87,360 annually Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) with generous individual and family plans 401(k) with up to 6% employer match Up to 4 weeks of paid time off Minnesota Sick Leave Strong team morale and long employee tenure Clean, temperature-controlled, and well-lit work environment Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $72,800.00 - $87,360.00/yr.
