General Responsibilities :
The Associate Dean of Nursing is supervised by the Dean of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, is responsible for the administration of the nursing programs, and works with faculty, deans, directors, and VPAA as part of the academic management team. Associate Dean of Nursing will also be the Nurse Administrator of record for accreditation agencies, ACEN and South Carolina Board of Nursing. Works with ADN and PN faculty to ensue lesson plans for classroom instruction meet the requirements of the college; Works with faculty to develop student learning outcomes, program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; Assists in the evaluation of students' progress in attaining goals and objectives; Participates in the development of program budget and maintains supplies and equipment;
Maintains program accreditation requirements (ACEN) and South Carolina Board of Nursing regulatory requirements ; Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; attends professional development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences; ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area; meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts. Teaches nursing courses as necessary in a classroom/lab/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry while maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field. Works with program faculty to assess and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success. Requires strong computer skills, communication skills, and ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population. Position may require committee and project assignments or other duties as assigned as well as day/evening/distance learning classes and activities.

Provide high quality instruction, teach courses as assigned, provide students with course documentation, demonstrate effective interaction skills, relate instruction/materials to course objectives, develop creative class activities, use various teaching techniques, organize instruction. 2. Provide academic advising, assist with recruitment, develop and implement E successful retention activities, assist in graduate placement, assist in student orientation/registration, provide appropriate safety instruction. 3. Manage classroom/lab/clinic activities in an orderly manner, hold 8 office hours per week, submit all required reports in a timely manner, prepare budget projections for equipment and supplies, practice good housekeeping, repair equipment as appropriate. 4. Schedule regular meetings to discuss curriculum(s), assist in hiring part-time and full-time faculty, prepare and supervise annual equipment/supply budgets, supervise and evaluate faculty, develop semester schedules of course offerings, and supervise the implementation of retention activities. 5. Represent the College on college committees, perform public service for the college, promote the mission and institutional objections of the college, build Essential 5 rapport with employers of graduates. 6. Perform other duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Master of Science in Nursing and unencumbered active RN license in South Carolina or another compact state.
Preferred Requirements :
Minimum requirements as listed plus 3 years previous fulltime teaching experience in a post-secondary institution; 2 years of progressive responsibility in academic leadership/management experience; knowledge of current trends in education, state and local academic program curricula, and academic course standards; knowledge of ACEN accreditation process, standards, site visits; and supervisory experience in postsecondary.

Strong background in nursing education, curriculum development, and accreditation standards (ACEN), along with a current RN license. Essential skills include leadership, communication, and analytical abilities for program management, faculty collaboration, and budget oversight. Anticipated Work Hours :
This full-time administrative role operates in a professional office environment, requiring the use of standard office equipment and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. While primarily Monday-Friday, flexibility for evenings and weekends is necessary. Regular travel to other campuses is expected, with overnight travel for training and professional development.
