General Responsibilities :
The Dean of Enrollment Management provides leadership in Enrollment Management and all related functional areas of the college including Admissions and Dual Enrollment. This leader will ensure that FDTC meets its enrollment goals and delivers positive, student-centered services to all prospective and current students. The Dean serves as a key Student Services Division leader charged with delivering service excellence and actively contributing to institution-wide enrollment, retention, persistence, and completion efforts. This position will report to the VP of Student Services. Examples of Duties
Job Functions:
1. The Dean of Enrollment will maintain knowledge of best practices, new developments and innovative enrollment strategies in technical colleges and higher education; recommends changes to maintain relevance of programs and services to meet student and institutional needs. Required to Implement and maintain a data tracking and evaluation system to evaluate the progress of students from outreach through enrollment and retention. Ensures compliance with all state regulations, federal laws, and FDTC policies. Collaborates across divisions to improve the college's ability to serve students with intention and excellence. Works closely with Academic Affairs to ensure and recommend effective scheduling and communication of program information helping to increase enrollment. Represents the College and department at appropriate SCTCS meetings and planning sessions as they relate to assigned areas of responsibility.
2. Develop, plan, implement, and administer goals, objectives, and procedures necessary to provide recruitment and enrollment contacts to high school students and the general adult population; develop or approve new or modified enrollment data necessary for appropriate managers; develop or approve new or modified programs, policies, and procedures related to admissions, dual enrollment, registration, and records. Monitor, oversee, and coordinate the development and maintenance of college enrollment activities and operations. Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; identify opportunities and recommendations for improvement and review with the Vice President of Student Services.
3. Establish close working relationships with senior leadership, staff, faculty church and ministry leaders, to engage in conversations about enrollment priorities. Able to plan, organize, and schedule registration and recruitment events in conjunction with Instruction, Student Services, and Information Technology. Update and maintain all forms and materials and public information related to assigned areas of supervision both Web and paper format.
4. Provide leadership to the program review process. Serve as a member of various College and District committees and task forces; maintain liaison with other college, District, public, and private agencies to assure coordination of activities. Provide leadership of both proactive and reactive retention efforts in cooperation with the entire College community, but especially faculty, student development, and administrative areas that engage in significant interaction.
5. Select, develop, motivate, train, and evaluate assigned personnel and perform related duties as assigned. Typical Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Master's degree and experience in student services programs.
Preferred Requirements :
Master's degree in related discipline plus five or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience in admissions, financial aid, and/or records. Strong understanding of how to use data analysis to inform strategic and tactical plans for enrollment management, optimizing the allocation of staff and financial resources throughout the enrollment process. Able to provide a holistic view of the connections among the areas of enrollment, academic affairs, athletics, and student life; the capacity to build strong and supportive relationships across them and to work effectively with all who have an interest in the shaping and success of FDTC's student body. Experience working directly with the most senior levels of an institution is very important. Ability to effectively strategize and engage various groups and constituents, including the a AVP of Enrollment Services, Senior leadership, faculty and major benefactors.
The Dean of Enrollment must have a creative approach to problem solving, and the ability to take advantage of emerging opportunities. A good sense of humor, a high level of energy, self-confidence, a positive "can- do" attitude, charisma, a commitment to self-development, and the ability to function at peak level in a high expectation environment are essential.
