Division/Program Summary Description: New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Division of Mental Hygiene seeks two (2) full-time Co-Response Team Supervisors for the Bureau of Health Promotion of Justice Impacted Populations with primary responsibilities overseeing the Co-Response Program. Position Summary: The Co Response Team (CRT) Model is a collaboration between the New York Police Department (NYPD) and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), with a mission of serving individuals presenting with behavioral health challenges (mental health and substance misuse) as well as an elevated risk of harm to themselves or others. The teams consist of two uniformed NYPD officers and one behavioral health professional who engage individuals together in the community. Co-Response Teams are deployed pre and post crisis to provide clinical assessments to determine service connection needs. CRT will be operational 14 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. Supervisors will be assigned one of 2 shifts (7AM-3PM or 1PM-9PM); (Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday-Saturday). Job Duties and Responsibilities

Co Response Team Supervisors reporting directly to the Co-Response Program Director is primarily responsible for day-to-day management and support of Co-Response teams. To do so the supervisors will: Provide clinical oversight and field-based supervision and ongoing coaching to Co-Response coordinators. Deploy and maintain a caseload. Provide field coverage and field supervision. Field work at least 3 times per week. Provide crisis counseling, de-escalation & clinical assessments/interventions as needed. Gather information in real time from referral source to determine appropriate response. Provide real time telephonic and field support as needed to teams. Troubleshoot any challenges, issues or concerns that might arise and escalate issues to management as necessary. Incorporate best practices for engagement, crisis and peer intervention services. Provide onboarding trainings and ongoing professional development to CRT Coordinators and staff as needed. Participate in the development, coordination of and facilitation of trainings for CRT Coordinators, partner meetings and community events. Training and oversight of CRT Intake. Assist with quality assurance and quality improvement efforts. Coordinate/consult with on-site NYPD management and staff to support team operations. Maintain collaborative relationships with law enforcement partners. Ensure staff record keeping is timely, concise and accurate. Review of initial assessments and progress notes for quality improvement. Respond to field-based crisis and issues (which may involve in-person/field or by phone). Coordinate with other collateral players, as needed. Work with HPJIP Epi team to track and monitor client engagement outcomes and maintain detailed, accurate and timely reports on productivity and quality. Work to build relationships with other City agencies, community providers and relevant collateral contacts to coordinate appropriate responses to the real time 911 calls. Participate in all program-related and supervisory meetings. Provide operational coverage as needed, including working other shifts, and providing vacation coverage as needed. Flexibility with staying later or coming in earlier for shift, due to coverage, operational needs. Preferred Skills

Bilingual: Spanish preferred) (Highly preferred skill: language proficiency) Licensed New York State Masters-level Mental Health professional in good standing. 5 years direct service experience working with highly vulnerable populations, particularly the homeless, and people with health, mental health, substance abuse issues as well as families. Must have experience with field work. Strong understanding of the intersection of NYC's criminal justice and behavioral health systems Demonstrated knowledge and experience with best practices around violence risk identification and management, engagement of hard-to-reach clients, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, trauma informed care and non-violent crisis intervention techniques. Significant provider experience in behavioral health treatment and/or services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail and organization. Ability to respond quickly and effectively to crisis situations. Demonstrated effective leadership and supervisory experience. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Flexibility, and ability to handle changing workload with multiple projects and changing priorities. Experience providing counseling, outreach, workshop/training facilitation, case supervision and/or group/community presentations.
