Senior Post Market Reliability Engineer

In this exciting role as a Senior Post Market Reliability Engineer, you will have responsibility for ensuring the safety and performance of Medtronic Patient Care Systems products. You will provide key technical expertise and leadership to monitor and maintain ongoing reliability of software products, like device programmers, clinician information systems, and patient remote monitors that support our CRM business. In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Senior Post Market Reliability Engineer role. This includes, but is not limited to the following: Monitor performance of fielded software products to identify trends and issues. Escalate issues, performs risk assessments, and assist in the management of issues to resolution. Develop and maintains post-market vigilance deliverables in accordance with procedures. Participate in cross-functional teams in the preparation of risk management documentation, including product impact assessments, Hazard Analyses, Post Market Surveillance Reports, etc. May fulfill the role of "Personnel with Clinical Knowledge" in risk management assessments if specialized experience criteria are met. Represent quality on development teams implementing software changes to issues identified in post-market. Partner with the Patient Care Systems function to analyze reliability trends in relation to new product development. Participate in and lead organizational efforts to improve quality processes, outcomes, and culture. Develop ideas and concepts for improved performance monitoring and partners with development teams to see them implemented. Provide input for regulatory submissions. Ensure alignment with platform teams, key stakeholders, and leadership teams. Develop, coordinate, and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments (DOE) constructs. Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures for achieving required levels of product reliability. Complete risk analysis studies for new product designs. Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes. Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards. Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmental agency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes posing excessive failure risks. As necessary, proposes changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability. May determine units and/or batches requiring environmental testing and specifies minimum number of samples to obtain statistically valid data. Qualifications Must Have - Minimum Requirements To be considered for this role, please be sure the minimum requirements are evident on your resume Bachelor's degree required in engineering, math, science, or technical discipline Minimum of 4 years of technical experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience Nice to Have Experience in software development or software reliability, and experience working in a regulated environment. Demonstrated ability to perform data analysis using statistical techniques and reliability tools. Demonstrated critical thinking skills with focus on improved system performance outcomes and positive business impact. Excellent problem-solving skills, including demonstrated application of structured problem-solving methods and tools. Sufficient reliability engineering and statistics knowledge Strong written and oral communication skills (timely, clear, concise, accurate, conclusive, influential, targeted to audience) Strong collaboration and influence skills (build relationships, leverage others, align and work towards shared outcome-based goals, understand others' needs, negotiate for win-win, own the whole) Together, we can change healthcare worldwide. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$106,400.00 - $159,600.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
