Senior Software Engineer Company and Role Context
Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Patient Care Systems (PCS) organization develops the next generation medical technologies that alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life for millions of patients across the world. Our software is developed with state-of-the-art, industry standard technologies and used by clinicians and patients worldwide. As a Senior Software Engineer in the CRM Organization, you will be delivering embedded firmware for Medtronic implantable cardiac devices. The CRM Patient Care Systems team develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures, and deliver successful patient outcomes. We are looking for highly motivated and self-starting software engineers who want to innovate in a fun and fast-paced environment with a passion to improve peoples quality of life. The individual will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process. The ideal candidate is a software engineer with full SDLC knowledge, understanding of embedded design, development and testing, and experience creating project deliverables in the medical device industry. This position is in Mounds View, MN, within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) Operating Unit. We are on-site 4 days per week and travel is less than 10% to enhance collaboration and ensure successful project completion. Responsibilities
Develop and test medical device application software, document and troubleshoot issues, and work with instrument and hardware functions. Use a variety of software troubleshooting tools including OTS and custom-built. Collaborate with individuals across a variety of engineering disciplines. Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the software development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products. Qualifications
MUST HAVE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. Minimum of 4 years of technical experience, or advanced degree with 2 years of technical experience. Nice to Have
Proficiency in two or more of the following technologies: C++, Java, Java Script, C#, .NET, Python Strong knowledge of software design, development, debugging and testing practices Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and Azure DevOps Demonstrated expertise in software test automation, both scripting and frameworks Experience in technical specification and report writing Strong skills with test automation and verification Experience in software design for medical devices About Medtronic
