Logistics Staff Accountant
Job Type:
Full-time; Onsite
Responsibilities
Post daily bank transactions.
Post daily A/R related cash receipts applications.
Daily credit card coding, processing, and reconciliation.
Daily, weekly, and monthly bank reporting. Process weekly check runs.
Be responsible for month end entries.
Balance sheet accounts reconciliations and posting of related entries.
Pro-actively researches and resolves issues with accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger.
Assist with preparing after month end management reports.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Must have a good understanding of GAAP.
Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports and verifying information.
Fast learner and ability to work in fast-pasted environment.
Work collaboratively with team members and vendor contacts to follow up on vendor billing details and discrepancies completes other projects/responsibilities as assigned.
Will be assigned to special projects as needed.
Experience / Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required. 3 years minimum of experience.
Experience in the transportation/logistics (trucking) industry.
Billing and collection experience is a HUGE plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel and Word) with an emphasis on excel (knowledge of v-lookups/Pivot tables is essential).
Working knowledge of McLeod Software is preferred.
Excellent Communication (written and verbal) skills with emphasis on professional phone and email etiquette.
Superior organizational skills with high attention to detail.
High customer service orientation.
Ability to work in a team environment and with confidential data.
Possess a sense of urgency, flexibility, and assertiveness.
Ability to multi-task, plan/prioritize and execute in a timely manner.
Demonstrates professionalism, critical thinking and judgment to solve problems efficiently/effectively.
Analytical, detail oriented and self-motivated.
