Job Description
What you will be doing:
Advise on U.S. federal income tax, international tax, and state and local tax planning. Support domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, investment fund formations, and real estate transactions, including preparing related documents and filings. Assist in tax controversy matters such as voluntary disclosures, audits, appeals, litigation, and collections involving the IRS, Tax Court, Department of Justice (Tax Division), and state tax authorities. Conduct complex legal research, draft memoranda, and prepare supporting materials. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff. Experience you will need: Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the New York bar. 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm, accounting firm, or government tax practice. Strong academic performance. Excellent research, writing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. LL.M. in Taxation preferred but not required. Doctor of Law preferred. Interest and/or experience in corporate and real estate transaction tax planning. Exposure to tax controversy matters and administrative or litigation proceedings. Familiarity with international tax compliance and cross-border tax structures. Our client asked me to submit 3 great people within the next few days.
