Marine Engineer (Must live in Miami, Florida) Duties Assist the Port Engineer/Assistant Port Engineer in all matters related to shipboard operation and maintenance. Supervise Engineers onboard during docking and maintenance of machinery per manuals, manufacturer instructions, and regulations. Provide instructions for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, especially during engine maintenance, trials, or when deficiencies are detected. Manage maintenance of machinery, fuel oil, and lubricating oil in accordance with manuals and regulations. Help identify measures to prevent air and marine pollution during engine room tasks. Perform inspections and understand engine condition, including opening-up inspections. Ensure accuracy of measuring instruments and supervise repairs of engine parts under supervision. Inspect vessel's stores for the Engine Department and prepare related documents. Ensure adequate supplies of spare parts and materials, and oversee quality control of received goods. Maintain important documents, drawings, and records for the Engine Department. Ensure engine room compliance with SMS, SOLAS, MARPOL, Class, Flag, and PSC/USCG regulations. Inspect Oily Record Book annotations and revise annual maintenance programs. Plan maintenance in cooperation with the Port Engineer and oversee work during docking or repairs. Report defects or issues promptly to the Port Engineer or Ship management. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Endorsements Minimum five (5) years of engine room sea time. Minimum three (3) years as a licensed Chief Engineer or five (5) years as licensed Second Engineer. Extensive knowledge of vessel repair and maintenance. Knowledge of U.S. Coast Guard and IACS rules and regulations. Proficiency with vessel management and project management software. Ability to repair marine equipment on site under adverse conditions. Availability for overtime and weekend work. Familiarity with vessel operations. Decision-making ability and leadership skills. Valid Chief Engineer or Second Engineer Certificate of Competence (COC). Valid TWIC or ability to obtain one. Must reside in Miami, FL, and possess proper U.S. documentation.
