Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to enhance and streamline the assembly processes for our optoelectronic products. This role involves improving product consistency, conducting experiments to refine production methods, and ensuring high-quality standards are met. Responsibilities include developing and refining production methods for assembling camera and laser sensor systems, creating and maintaining process documentation, setting and monitoring statistical quality targets, analyzing production data to identify and resolve causes of defects or inefficiencies, designing custom tools and automation software solutions to improve efficiency, leading continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100, ITAR/EAR, and customer-specific standards, and investigating and resolving manufacturing-related defects and implementing soft initiatives like Kaizen and 5S. Essential Skills include manufacturing engineering, continuous improvement, tooling, root cause analysis, process design and optimization, automation and tooling development, and data analysis. Additional Skills & Qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, 35+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, hands-on experience with automation and fixture/tooling design, familiarity with Python programming, strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality, ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting, experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles, background in semiconductor manufacturing, understanding of software-hardware integration, and experience working with lasers and cameras. This role operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where safety and quality are of utmost importance. The position involves working with optoelectronic devices and may require collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve process improvements. The engineer will have the opportunity to engage in innovative projects, focusing on continuous improvement and utilizing advanced automation tools. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Camarillo, California. The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $57.70/hr.
