Overview

Environmental Health and Safety Technician role at MillenniumSoft Inc San Diego, CA. Duration: 12 Months. Total Hours/week: 40. 1st Shift. Employment Type: Contract on W2. Applicants must be US Citizens, GC Holders, GC EAD, OPT, or CPT eligible. Responsibilities

Coordinate/Supervise all site EHS programs, including hazardous waste, fall protection, powered industrial trucks, storm water, air permitting, fire safety, and emergency response. Conduct incident investigations including near-miss events, compliance issues, and work-related injuries/illnesses. Analyze data from OSHA 300 Logs, Workers Compensation trends, and industry best practices to identify trends and reduce incidents site-wide. Manage site Ergonomics Program; act as primary liaison for ergonomic evaluations; develop and implement improved ergonomics techniques addressing injury trends. Provide training and guidance on all EHS Training Programs (IIPP, Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, Emergency Response); create and deliver effective training and lesson plans. Determine required procedures and work instructions, draft them, and obtain approval through the clients established process. Manage the site Hazardous Waste Program and general recycling programs; seek green disposal alternatives; maintain chemical inventory and SDS files; coordinate annual chemical inventory updates with safety officers. Chair the Safety Committee in the absence of the EHS Manager; coordinate communications and distribute meeting minutes; advance corporate EHS initiatives. Conduct regulatory evaluations, write reports, and report activities to the EHS Manager; develop budget information and assist in annual site EHS budgeting. Maintain site permits (storm water, HMBP, air quality, Hazardous Waste, etc.); submit permit applications and ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations. Coordinate monthly site inspections of all departments with follow-up. Manage all aspects of the Bloodborne Pathogen Program, including Hepatitis B and Tetanus vaccination programs and training requirements. Maintain knowledge of Local, State, and Federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, California Health and Safety Code); perform periodic safety inspections and ensure corrective actions; participate as a standing Safety Committee member. Performs other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree desired; safety or related discipline strongly preferred. Minimum 5 years of related experience in warehouse, distribution center, or biotech/medical device manufacturing with safety and/or environmental responsibilities. Experience solving ergonomic safety concerns and conducting ergonomic evaluations in varied work settings (office, warehouse, materials handling). Experience managing hazardous waste programs strongly preferred. Familiarity with DHS, OSHA, EPA, RCRA, Air Quality, and Water Pollution regulations. Strong organizational and prioritization abilities; effective customer service skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under time pressure. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to follow established policies and procedures and to perform analytical problem solving. Proficiency with PCs and software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, FileMaker Pro, email, Internet).
