DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:The Grants Administrator is responsible for coordinating the development, administrative management, reporting, and closeout of grants and other programmatic investments made by Bay Mills Indian Community Tribal Administration. The Grants Administrator will ensure that BMIC's grant administration and related processes, documents, procedures, and implementation are executed professionally, efficiently, on schedule, and in a manner consistent with best practices. The Grants Administrator will meet academic and professional qualifications, demonstrate dedication to excellent employee service, and support the mission and objectives of Bay Mills Indian Community. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1. Administer, supervise, coordinate, and monitor grants in accordance with applicable standards, regulations, and guidelines, as directed by Tribal Administration. 2. Provides administration for the grants process including notice of award, execution of contracts, implementing work plans, tracking, payment/check requests, reporting; and maintaining accurate and timely records.3. Interacts with funders to ensure that grant projects comply with program guidelines for expenditure, funding, extensions, modifications, and accountability.4. Maintain grant compliance and reporting for assigned grants, including outcome measurement and grant budgets-taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness.5. Maintains up-to-date records in the Grants drive, including grant tracking and reporting; communicate with Grants Management about any issues or deadlines to help ensure everything is being submitted in a timely fashion, and that all grants and contracts are closed out accurately, completely, and on time.6. Prepare grant applications and proposals for submittal, including writing, reviewing, and editing grant applications and proposals, as needed.7. Assists various Department Managers in submitting periodic reports though various grant portals, as needed.8. Maintain grant portals to include yearly updates, organizational profiles, and annual recertifications.9. Other duties may be assigned within the scope and complexity of this position's essential functions.10. Must attend all mandatory trainings designated through the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director.RequirementsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit with occasional standing and walking. Occasionally the employee must bend, balance, squat, kneel, push/pull, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to use hands for firm manipulation and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level. The employee must be able to lift, move, and/or carry up to 25 pounds.WORK SCHEDULEThis position is full-time, 52 weeks per year. In addition to regular business hours, the person in this position must be flexible around the needs of the employer, which may include occasional evening and/or weekend hours or occasional travel for employer business. This position is not typically eligible for remote work. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:1. Some formal education, or actual experience, relating to Grants or Grants Management is required. Bachelor's Degree in Communication, English, or Business Administration required. 2. 3+ years of applicable grant administration experience, required.3. Experience with grant-making and management software (Grants.gov, Grant Solutions, etc.).4. Working knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.6. Ability to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects on time with quality results;7. Demonstrates excellence in problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.8. Must have an excellent past work record.9. Must have demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all departmental employees, and guests or clients of the organization.10. Must be able to travel when required.12. Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, privacy, and confidentiality. 13. Proven ability to work collaboratively and interact effectively with employees. 14. Knowledge or experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs. 15. Knowledge or experience in working with Native Americans preferred.16.
