Salary: $19.90 - $24.88 Job Summary: Under general supervision, performs corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance on the electrical components, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and instrumentation in the water, groundwater, distribution, and wastewater systems. Essential Job Functions: Perform corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance of the electrical components, PLCs, and instrumentation using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) at facilities including but not limited to: Water treatment plants. Elevated storage tanks. Pump stations. Lift station equipment. Complex, specialized and/or high voltage (4160) systems and equipment. This Includes providing status updates and escalating concerns to management. Utilize a PC, computer software, diagnostic tools, and equipment to install, perform regular inspections and maintenance, calibrate equipment and instrumentations to ensure accuracy and functionality, and repair a variety of electronic components including but not limited to sensors, and meters in the water, groundwater, and wastewater systems. Ensure optimal and efficient performance of all electrical and electronic apparatus, motors, controls, and equipment in the water, groundwater, and wastewater system by conducting routine preventive maintenance, thorough inspections, precise calibrations, and efficient repairs. Service electric instruments used for controlling, analyzing, measuring, and recording that are crucial for maintaining accurate and reliable operations in the water, groundwater, and wastewater system. Repair critical water treatment process equipment quickly to avoid possible total treatment failure that would require limited to no flows, and even low pressure in the distribution system that could result in significant public health risks and regulatory penalties. Other Job Functions: Facilitate the procurement process by purchasing and receiving materials, equipment, and other supplies with a city issued credit card or purchase order. Perform thorough security checks of department facilities, equipment, and work activities at locations including but not limited to: Water treatment plants Elevated storage tanks Lift stations Pump stations Lake Arlington Dam Provide strategic support in responding to high-priority customer inquiries and lead special projects and in-depth analyses for executive management, ensuring timely and impactful decision-making. Utilize the CMMS for effective maintenance tracking and management. Perform general mechanical maintenance and housekeeping activities. Ability to become familiar with and carry out documented procedures from reference documents including Lake Arlington Operations and Maintenance Manual, Security Plan, and Emergency Action Plan. Available for the on-call rotation which entails twenty-four/seven (24/7) emergency call-out. Inclement weather conditions may require additional support and operational readiness. Considered Essential Personnel during emergency or advisory conditions and will be required to report for duty, if called. Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of office and administrative practices and procedures. Knowledge of theory, practices, tools, and equipment used in electrical/instrumentation preventative maintenance and repairs. Knowledge of the National Electric Code and other rules and standards pertaining to electrical/instrumentation construction and maintenance of equipment and systems. Knowledge of water treatment and wastewater collection processes and systems. Knowledge of function and assembly of electrical/instrumentation equipment. Knowledge of safety equipment and procedures. Knowledge of basic math. Skill in reading and interpreting drawings, electrical plans, ladder logic and diagrams of electronic circuitry. Skill in using PC Software including current Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Skill in communicating professionally and tactfully with other city employees and the public by oral and written means. Skill with organization and attention to detail. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment utilizing knowledge of the organization's policies. Ability to work independently under general instructions. Ability to perform a variety of physical skills including but not limited to carrying, climbing heights up to 150 feet, dragging, driving, filing, holding, kneeling, lifting up to 100 pounds, pulling, pushing, seeing, sorting, squatting, standing, stooping, twisting body, typing, walking, and writing. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including but not limited to PC, telephone, calculator, scanner, and copier. Ability to prioritize deadlines and tasks. Ability to learn new systems and procedures quickly. Ability to plan, organize, monitor, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish unit objectives. Ability to understand mathematical calculations involving fractions, percentages, and decimals. Ability to work within a set schedule. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Specific Job Details: High School Diploma or GED Vocational/technical training including course work in computer science, electrical and instrument repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and National Electric Code and other rules and standards. Minimum of one (1) year's related experience in the electrical/instrumentation installation and repair field. Possession of valid Texas Driver's Licenses, class C. Possession of a current Journeyman Electrical License. Must obtain a Class "D" Water Operator's License from TCEQ within five (5) months of employment.
