Overview
Saint-Gobain North America is offering an 18-month Essentials of Manufacturing (EOM) program for a Mechanical Engineer role. The program provides a full-time operational role at one manufacturing plant for 18 months, with quarterly travel to other Saint-Gobain sites in North America. Start dates vary, with activities kickoff each year in July and end 18 months later in December. Upon program completion, EOM Engineers work with Human Resources to find an operational role at one of our sites. Final placement may vary by location. Responsibilities
Providing engineering support for site process improvements. Supporting capital expenditure projects/new equipment installations. Supporting safety and sustainability initiatives at the plant. Implementing new automation processes at the site. Analyzing existing manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for cost reduction and quality improvement. Qualifications
B.S. in an engineering discipline (Mechanical). Internship experience in manufacturing or a professional setting is a plus. Valid passport required for international travel to Canada. Program Details
Role duties vary by location; examples of responsibilities are provided above. Travel to a different plant in North America every three months; total travel is required for program completion. Mentorship and structured trainings in lean manufacturing, data analytics, project management, and more.
