IAT Insurance Group
The Claims department within IAT has an immediate opening for a Homeowners Claims Specialist that can be located in one of the following locations:
Raleigh, North Carolina
Scottsdale, Arizona
Alpharetta, Georgia
Spring, Texas
Virginia Beach, Virginia
Omaha, Nebraska
This role works a hybrid schedule from an IAT Office in Scottsdale, AZ, Alpharetta, GA, Raleigh, NC, Spring, TX, Virginia Beach, VA, or Omaha, NE. The hybrid schedule involves working in the office with colleagues Monday through Wednesday, with the option of remote work on Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities:
Handles claims related to homeowners property, including moderate to severe cases, based on Claim Guidelines. Performs CAT duty as needed, which may include working weekends, overnight hours, and holidays. Analyzes situations or data following standard practices and procedures. Verifies and analyzes coverage for reported losses. Establishes and maintains contact with stakeholders throughout the claim process. Investigates claims by gathering information, conducting interviews, reviewing reports and bills, and conducting research. Identifies opportunities for subrogation, contribution, and SIU. Sets accurate loss and expense reserves in accordance with guidelines. Evaluates, negotiates, and authorizes settlements within authority limits. Manages vendors and counsel, including defense budget approvals. Negotiates with claimants and attorneys when necessary. Drafts correspondence, including coverage letters. Maintains required licenses. Works on problems within a limited scope. Performs other duties as needed. Qualifications:
Must-Have:
HS degree/GED with 5+ years of relevant claims experience. Ability to understand fire loss claims. Ability to identify and investigate subrogation potential. Proficiency in drafting professional correspondence. Good estimating skills and proficiency with Xactimate. Licensure as required by state(s) or ability to obtain it. Excellent communication skills. Ability to analyze data and make supported decisions. Knowledge of property insurance coverages and forms. Authorized to work in the U.S. without future VISA sponsorship needs. Preferred to Have:
Associate or Bachelors Degree. CPCU or other insurance-related certifications. Field adjusting experience. Proficiency with Cotality platform. Our Culture
