Shipping Associate

The Shipping Associate is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, packaging, and shipment of goods. This role requires a strong attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a solid understanding of various shipping carrier procedures. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, efficient, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. What You Will Do: Order Fulfillment: Accurately pack and label outgoing shipments according to customer orders and company standards. Carrier Management: Prepare shipments using various shipping software and platforms, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL, ensuring compliance with each carrier's specific requirements (e.g., dimensions, weight, labeling). Documentation: Generate and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including packing lists, commercial invoices, bills of lading, and export declarations. Hazardous Materials: (Preferred) Properly prepare, label, and document hazardous material shipments in compliance with IATA, DOT, and other relevant regulations. Quality Control: Inspect outgoing packages for damage or discrepancies, ensuring products meet quality standards before shipment. Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations within the warehouse environment. Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve shipping discrepancies or issues, escalating complex problems to the Shipping Manager as needed. Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and shrink wrap machines. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other warehouse team members, customer service, and sales departments to ensure smooth operations. Qualifications You Must Have: Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Must be a U.S. citizen. Qualifications We Prefer: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment. Proven experience utilizing shipping software and processes for major carriers, including FedEx, UPS, and DHL. Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 25 lbs. Strong basic math skills and attention to detail. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). Experience with hazardous material shipping regulations (IATA, DOT, IMDG) and proper documentation. Forklift certification.
