The actual posting represents a position at one of our clients.Job SummaryOur client is seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety Technician I (Temporary) to join their team. The primary responsibilities include maintaining essential health and safety equipment, managing biohazardous waste, and ensuring the safety of laboratory and storage environments.Key Responsibilities Maintain health and safety equipment and supplies such as emergency eyewashes, safety glasses, and AEDs. Operate and manage the biohazardous waste storage room. Collect and organize chemical waste from laboratories under supervision. Maintain proper levels of supplies and reorder as needed. Conduct regular water and fire safety testing and monitoring. Maintain meticulous documentation and recordkeeping. Create, review, and update work instructions. Communicate effectively with team members and scientists. Establish schedules to complete time-critical tasks. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. RCRA (32 or 40-hour training) and DOT (8-hour training). Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Experience creating detailed step-by-step work instructions.Experience 0-2 years of experience in occupational/environmental health or related fields. 0-2 years of related experience on an EHS or similar team.Skills Strong aptitude for and willingness to learn computer software applications. Attention to detail and open honest communication. Familiarity with SharePoint software. Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.Additional Requirements Personnel protective equipment (PPE) including respiratory protection may be required. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for most of the day; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Fine motor skills for operating computers and lab equipment. Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs, stoop, bend, crouch, reach, and climb ladders. Work onsite for the majority of working hours.Benefits Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
