Job DescriptionThis is not an official description, but represents major responsibilities a new hire can expect to perform. You could expect the position of a baker to include the following:DUTIES:Regular, reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.Mix, Proof and Bake scratch/mix doughCut and weigh dough into uniform portions with knife or divider, mold doughinto loaves or other shapes, and place in oven or bread equipmentProvide friendly and courteous service to customersAssist customers with product selections, including suggestive sellingPrepare breads, rolls, doughnuts, and other pastries, including icings and frostings, according to established recipesInspect product for quality during and after baking and make adjustments to process as requiredReview production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and to assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activitiesPackage fresh-baked productsSlice and wrap fresh baked breadStock product displays in cases and on shelvesRotate product and straighten displaysRemove outdated productBake cookiesRecord inventory of supplies and order stock from main storeroomComplete production sheets and other records as requiredConstantly clean work area and equipment following company safety and sanitation proceduresOther duties will be assigned at the discretion of the store managementTRAININGTraining will be provided at store level.PHYSICAL DEMANDSBendingStoopingMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsWorking on feet for entire shift (4-8 hours)Additional Requirements - Internal Candidates:Store/Facility Teammates: minimum of six months employment with Schnucks preferred.Store Support Center Teammates: minimum of one year employment with Schnucks preferred.Must be in good standing (not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline).If invited for an interview, must have manager approval based on performance.Schnucks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
