This position oversees the compliance program for the ISU Athletic Department. The Associate Athletic Director for Compliance is responsible for developing, administering, and executing policies and processes to support compliance with NCAA, Big Sky Conference (BSC), and University rules/policies and procedures. The role reports to the University General Counsel and will provide leadership as part of the university compliance team, delivering proactive, customer-service oriented services. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to handle multiple projects, take ownership, uphold high ethical standards, demonstrate alignment with the universitys mission, and employ excellent interpersonal skills. Flexible work arrangements may be considered as appropriate based on the needs of the office and position. Key Responsibilities
Compliance Oversight: Serve as Senior Compliance Administrator and primary liaison to the NCAA and Big Sky Conference. Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive compliance program ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules. Advise and educate athletic department leadership, coaches, staff, and student-athletes on compliance issues; monitor and enforce eligibility, recruiting, financial aid, NIL, transfer portal, amateurism, ethical conduct, and related areas. Design and deliver rules education programs for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and other stakeholders. Manage student-athlete eligibility certification in coordination with academic services, the Registrar, Faculty Athletics Representative, and compliance staff. Maintain compliance records and reporting systems, including rosters and NCAA attestations. Monitor recruiting activities, transfer portal entries, playing/practice seasons, student-athlete benefits, and approve camps/clinics. Oversee athletics financial aid and National Letter of Intent processes, including offers, agreements, renewals, reductions, cancellations, and summer aid administration for incoming students. Collaborate with the Universitys Title IX Coordinator and related offices to ensure compliance with policies on discrimination, harassment, and mandatory reporting. Investigate, document, and report potential rule violations; prepare waiver requests and manage compliance submissions. Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall compliance program. Sport Oversight: May serve as a Sport Administrator for one intercollegiate team as assigned by the Director of Athletics and approved by the General Counsel. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree. At least three years of professional experience working with collegiate athletics. Demonstrated understanding of NCAA rules and regulations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build internal and external relationships. Strong computer and technical skills to support utilization of university systems, databases, and NCAA/NIL portals. Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in Division I athletics compliance. Previous experience in a supervisory role. Additional Information
