Overview
Vice President, Project Development (Geothermal) in Brightcore Energy's Business Development Division. This role focuses on leading and overseeing complex geothermal development projects from early-stage through full project contract execution. It requires a combination of business development, stakeholder management, technical engineering knowledge, regulatory expertise, and financial acumen to navigate geothermal project development. The position involves direct client engagement, cross-functional team leadership, strategic analysis, and comprehensive project oversight throughout the development process. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with resourcefulness, analytical discernment, leadership, and a drive to push projects forward in a competitive market. Pay Base pay range: $180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr. This range is provided by Brightcore Energy; actual pay will be based on skills and experience. Oversee multidisciplinary project teams and advise on multiple geothermal projects in varying development stages, adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance standards. Coordinate across internal and external teams to meet project timelines, while maintaining clear and professional communication with the client and key stakeholders. Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement: develop and/or oversee execution of comprehensive communication strategies for complex geothermal projects, including client presentations and stakeholder engagement with corporate, institutional and other entities. Build and maintain direct relationships with end-user clients and project beneficiaries; understand user needs and address concerns with mitigation strategies for successful implementation. Clearly communicate the project development process from the start and at milestones to align client and stakeholders with the team on expectations. Actively engage with project beneficiaries and stakeholders to gather feedback for analysis and discussion with Senior Leadership. Maintain ongoing relationships with end-users and stakeholders to establish the role of Go-To Supplier and stay informed on their near-term and long-term portfolio and business direction. Technical and Financial Analysis: synthesize geological maps, feasibility reports, and engineering analyses to inform development decisions; articulate project financials to clients including capital and operating expenses; interpret regulatory documents, grants, and incentive programs.
Business Development, Sales and Revenue Achievement
Articulate Brightcores value proposition, build rapport, and develop and implement sales strategies to influence client and stakeholder decisions. Conduct business development activities including review of proposals and technical presentations; build and maintain relationships. Identify opportunities to leverage stakeholder interactions for strategic partnerships and new pipeline projects. Provide insights to manage geothermal project pipelines to meet or exceed sales and/or revenue targets. Participate in Senior leadership discussions regarding organization-level priorities and geothermal project pipeline. All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree with 1015 years of experience in supervisory, sales, project management, project implementation, or related areas. Background in renewable energy project development, real estate development, MEP engineering, environmental engineering, construction project management, architecture, or related field. Ability to read and interpret technical, engineering, financial, and regulatory documents, including drilling reports, cost estimates, thermal conductivity reports, site plans, specifications, and grants. Proven ability to navigate complex approval processes and manage projects with multiple stakeholders and regulatory requirements. Experience managing client-facing projects to schedule; proficiency with project management software, CRM, and collaboration tools. Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences; excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities in stakeholder management. Ability to lead cross-functional teams; comfortable working independently in a dynamic, evolving industry with changing regulations and technologies. Strategic, forward-looking thinker with ownership mindset and openness to experimenting with new working methods and business models. Experience in leadership roles involving engagement with Senior or Executive Leadership.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibility. Expected Hours of Work
An employee must work a minimum of thirty (30) hours per week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, with an average expectation of forty (40) hours and overtime as scheduled. The base salary range may be modified based on location, experience, credentials, and internal equity. Brightcore offers a comprehensive benefits package. The base annual salary range is $180,000-$200,000 and is eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Travel Requirements
Travel up to 25% within the Northeast. Office setting; hybrid work arrangement (3+ days per week in office).
