Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year: Non-Recurring Pay:

7% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3.5% on November paycheck and 3.5 % on May paycheck). Staffing Stability Incentive (Adams Elementary, Galileo Middle School and Mitchell High School):

ESP employees will receive the equivalent of one salary step divided over 12 pay periods.

Base Salary Setting:

Employment, assignment and salary placement, is in accordance with job description requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title, job duties and time worked in the position. Grade placement for ESP positions is determined by the Salary Schedule by Job Title resource . Reference the linked How Your Compensation Is Determined for more details.

Salary Setting (New Hires):

Any newly-employed Education Support Professional will be placed on the twenty-five (25) step system. Each step represents two years of experience, based upon equivalent experience. The maximum number of years of experience granted is 19-20 years, which is equivalent to placement on step ten (10). Steps are determined by experience listed on the application and resume.

Salary Setting (Rehires):

Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job, provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question .

Employees with experience in the District who have left the District and then returned to the same position shall be hired at the same pay grade (refers to the ESP placement on salary schedule by job title) and step at time of resignation. Additional relevant experience gained after resignation may be evaluated from the employee's application and updated resume.

BENEFITS ELIGIBILITY

Full-Time Regular Employees

are eligible for the following Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, District Paid Life Insurance, Voluntary Life Insurance, Voluntary Short Term Disability, Voluntary Long-term Disability, Medical Flexible Spending Account, Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account, and the Employee Assistance Program.

Teachers:

Teachers in this category must work a

minimum of .41 FTE (17.5 hours)

per week to be eligible for full employee benefits.

ESP and Exec Pro Employees:

Must work a

minimum of .75 FTE

(30 hours)

per week to be eligible. If an ESP or Executive Professional employee's hours are decreased to less than 30 hours per week or a teacher's hours decreased to less than 17.5 hours per week, the employee will no longer continue to be eligible to receive the benefits as of the end of the month in which the hours were reduced.

Temporary one-on-one Educational Assistants

. Employees in this category who are working

at least six hours per day

, and have

completed two (2) consecutive years of service by July 1st

will be changed from temporary status to regular status and will have the same sick leave as a regular status employee.

Retirees Working 30+ Hours/Week or 140 Days:

Retirees who satisfy the eligibility requirements of

30 hours or more

per week or qualify for one of the District's 140 day slots may be eligible for the 75%/25% or 85%/15% premium share for employee only premium based on the health plan chosen and 70% for all other premium tiers of the plan (employee + spouse, employee + child(ren), and family).

Part-Time Regular Employees

are eligible for the following Benefits: Employee Assistance Program and pro-rated sick leave.

ESP and Exec Pro Employees (less than 6 hours a day) and Teachers (working

less than 3.5 hours a day):

Such employees shall receive pro-rated sick leave, as well as the opportunity to use accumulated sick leave days as personal leave days based on the number of hours worked daily and are not eligible for all available benefits.

JOB DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION Performs high level secretarial tasks and administrative assistance to principal/supervisors to ensure the successful operation of programs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS •Oversees process of and assumes responsibility for timely and accurate completion of office functions •Coordinates workloads and information with other support staff which may include: •overseeing maintenance of office equipment •issuing building keys •maintaining inventory/ordering office supplies •arranging and follow-up with substitutes •maintaining accounting records •collecting, recording, depositing moneys •submitting payroll information •assembling, editing word processing •posting, distributing newsletters •Maintains student records. Enrolls/drops students, completes accompanying paperwork •Processes mail, assists in preparation of reports, maintains staff and building files, answers •Inquiries from staff, students, parents and all other customers •Provides first aid •Monitors student immunization records and updates health folders •Prepares health related reports and maintains insurance records •Prepares notification of meetings, agendas and minutes then word processes and distributes as required •Coordinates collection and processing of forms required by local, state and federal programs •Administers/monitors medication for students; documents all medicine or treatment administered or monitored.

OTHER DUTIES •Performs related work as required

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS •Knowledge of office practices and operation of standard office appliances, including desktop computers and copy machines •Knowledge of secretarial procedures as applied to a school office •Knowledge of standard accounting procedures and practices as applied to the requirements of district school accounts •Ability to operate keyboard devices at a moderate speed •Ability to organize and direct office services for a school office •Ability to use standard data base, spreadsheet and word processing software effectively •Ability to communicate effectively •Ability to work cooperatively with others •Ability to train and oversee others in the workplace

QUALIFICATIONS •High School diploma or equivalent with coursework in office practices. •Minimum three years clerical/secretarial/bookkeeping/account experience and maintenance. •Knowledge of computers, software programs, database and spreadsheets. •May include: •Coursework in office practices/vocational courses. •Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to Principal/Designated Administrator

WORKING CONDITIONS The work is performed in a typical office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is mostly sedentary with periods of light physical activity. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.
