Function of Position:
Support the development and implementation of campus-wide programming
Communicate effectively and inclusively with peers and professional staff
Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and time management in a campus setting
Foster an environment of belonging and engagement for first-year students

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with planning, promoting, and hosting FYE events on campus and in residence halls
Support recreational and social activities designed to build community among first-year students
Collaborate with FYE staff and other ambassadors to brainstorm and set up engaging programming
Greet and interact with event attendees in a friendly and inclusive manner
· Wear the MCC polo and name tag during all scheduled shifts and events

Contributes to, supports, and maintains an equitable, inclusive, and collaborative College environment.
Maintains technological competencies utilized by the College.
Commits to the philosophy of a comprehensive community college.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must be Federal Work Study eligible (you can confirm your eligibility with a Financial Aid representative)
Current MCC student in good academic and judicial standing
Reliable, responsible, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude
Comfortable working with diverse student populations
Must wear the MCC polo and name tag during all scheduled shifts and events
Reliable Transportation
Availability to attend FYE staff meetings on Mondays at 4:00 PM
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in student activities, peer leadership, or event planning
Knowledge of MCC's campus and a passion for helping new students feel connected
Creativity and enthusiasm for making events fun, inclusive, and memorable
Comfort engaging with diverse groups of students and families
Willingness to work evening and weekend events as needed
Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Pay Rate: $15.50/hour
Hours per week: Up to 20 hours/week
