The Executive/Development Assistant (EDA) is an organized, creative, donor-focused professional who is passionate about Community Connections' mission to provide behavioral health, supportive housing, homeless outreach and integrated healthcare coordination for marginalized and disenfranchised individuals and families living in the District of Columbia. The EDA is a hybrid position providing development and executive assistant support reporting to the President & CEO. The EDA is responsible for portfolio review, maintenance, and strategy for keeping data current; identifying and researching potential donors, and providing full-spectrum high level administrative support to the President & CEO. The EDA partners with the President & CEO and works with volunteers, vendors, and staff to support and drive revenue for key services and initiatives. The EDA will assist in growing the CCI development/fundraising program and assist with signature events and campaigns. The EDA will report to the President & CEO but will work closely with multiple leaders, staff, and internal fundraising committee. The EDA's workload requires teamwork, flexibility, efficiency, attention to detail, a consumer service mindset, and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines. This position requires professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and discretion and confidentiality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Fundraising (50%):

Provide accurate, timely, and comprehensive analysis and information about prospective donors to the President & CEO.

Assist with fundraising activities and steward existing donors through periodic touchpoints.

Partner with local organizations to sponsor and host fundraising events.

Support CCI's signature event, including but not limited to logistics, on-site support and auction and donation outreach.

Manage CCI's online fundraising platform and follow up with required correspondence on behalf of President & CEO.

Collaborate with President & CEO to share best practices and support cross-team fundraising, committee management, and volunteer strategy

Research and prioritize donor discovery and secure contacts for potential prospects to support signature events and fundraising activities throughout the year.

Maintain/triage email and phone communications for the fundraising department.

Respond to calls for President & CEO and route them to specific team members as needed.

Update donor records in Excel and fundraising platform to maintain accuracy of donor database with list management efforts to include returned mail/contact information.

Recruit, hire, train and oversee Development-related interns as needed.

Attend development events as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Administrative (50%):

Provide calendar management to President & CEO. With a high level of attention to detail, prioritize inquiries and requests. Make judgements on time and recommendations grounded in strategic priorities and with a win-win attitude to ensure smooth day-to-day engagements.

Provide general administrative support. Provide ad-hoc project coordination, as well as general admin related tasks.

Own and contribute to organizational projects and operational improvements as needed. Proactively seek, share, and apply knowledge to spot opportunities and deliver innovative, entrepreneurial solutions.

Meeting preparation, presentations, and participation. Assemble meeting agendas, record meeting minutes and notes, and oversee action items.

Identify areas to increase efficiency and innovate to improve administrative processes. Identify, learn, and teach new tools or techniques to elevate performance.

Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience.

Ideally 1-3 years of work experience, preferably in a development/fundraising environment

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel

Broad knowledge of - and experience in - the use of research materials, including the internet and online informational databases

Strong problem-solving abilities; and ability to exercise independent judgment and excellent attention to detail is critical

Understanding and practice of a high standard of confidentiality and ethical information collection

Highly developed interpersonal, written, and oral communications skills

Strong collaborative and project management skills, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects

Team-player with a positive attitude who can effectively work with staff and multiple constituents.

Experience with Microsoft office suite, integrated documentation, and virtual communication tools.

Familiarity with donor databases and online processors, preferred (Raiser's Edge, JustGiving, Givergy, GiveSmart and RunSignUp)

Able to multi-task multiple projects

The position is based in Washington, DC with a hybrid work environment. EDA will have a flexible work schedule to support periodic events before and after hours.
