They were recently assigned two (2) four-year assignments inspecting bridges throughout the state of Connecticut for Connecticut DOT as well as bridges throughout NYC and Long Island for New York State DOT. Currently seeking a Bridge Inspection Diver to work on numerous bridge inspection projects that include biennial and condition inspections for small and large scale bridge structures. Conducts site investigations as part of an inspection team Works collaboratively with all members of the engineering dive group Analyzes deteriorated components, assess remaining capacities Helps solve engineering problems and challenges Partners with other professionals and departments to gather information for projects; Prepare plans, designs, calculations, cost estimates under the supervision of engineers Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications Prepare engineering reports and other technical documents Assists Project Managers to ensure that the scope of work is fulfilled, and that the contracted deliverables go out on schedule and as budgeted Ability and willingness to travel as required BS degree or higher in Civil Engineering preferred, Structural degree preferred but not required (8) eight - (12) twelve years’ experience PE registration or ability to obtain in (6) six months, preferred but not required NHI Courses 130055 and 130091 required ADCI or equivalent Dive Certification, Valid driver’s license Experience as a commercial diver, including underwater inspections of bridges, piers, piles, wharves, docks, and bulkheads Familiarity with sound engineering and safe diving principles Diver Certification Board of Canada (DCBC) certification This is an IMMEDIATE HIRE but the hiring manager will wait for the right candidate.
