"Once in a Lifetime Career Opportunity" Fast-Trac your Career Path to the next level Out-of-State candidates are encouraged to apply relocation or sign-on bonus available DESCRIPTION We are seeking a skilled and motivated 'Bridge Inspector/Diver/Team Lead' member to perform inspections of bridge and related waterfront structures. The inspector will assess the structure condition in accordance with federal and state standards. This candidate should have previous underwater inspection training/experience, or strong desire to pursue specialized training and certifications in underwater bridge and waterfront structure inspections. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Job requires both field and office work, including some overnight travel. The candidate should be familiar with field procedures, reporting, and coordination. Office work may include reporting, drafting (AutoCAD/MicroStation), and structural analysis/design software to load rate or repair/rehab bridges. Position to be based out of our Charlotte, North Carolina office location. Work to be performed statewide throughout North and South Carolina. KEY RESPONSIBILTIES Conduct top side and/or underwater inspections of bridges and related structures using visual, tactile, and instrument-based methods. Document findings through detailed reports, photographs, and video recordings. Identify and record deficiencies and potential hazards in accordance with industry standards. Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of inspections. Operate and maintain diving equipment, including surface-supplied air systems and underwater communication tools. Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADCI, and other relevant safety standards. Support emergency response efforts for infrastructure damage due to natural disasters or accidents. Collaborate with structural engineers to interpret inspection results and recommend maintenance or repair actions. PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS FHWA-NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges Minimum (3) three years of experience in bridge inspection Familiarity with bridge inspection standards (e.g., FHWA & NBIS guidelines). Ability to work in challenging environments and under varying weather conditions Excellent written and verbal communication skills. CPR/First Aid/AED Physically capable of performing field work which may include carrying ladders and gear, working at heights, climbing, working in hot or cold weather, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Suite Comfortable working in confined spaces and low-visibility conditions. STRONGLY PREFERRED FHWA/NHI 130091 Underwater Bridge Inspection Scuba or Commercial Dive Certifications Familiarity with state inspection applications (NCDOT WIGINS or SCDOT BrM software) Interest to obtain EI or PE The approximate compensation range for this position is $100,000 to $130,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
