We are seeking an experienced Project Manager (PM) to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of our Cerner to Epic migration project. This role will oversee the full lifecycle of the migration, including planning, governance, data conversion, testing, cutover, go-live, and stabilization, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in EHR implementation/migration projects, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to partner with executive leadership, clinical/revenue cycle leaders, Epic analysts, and technical teams. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Governance Develop and maintain the overall project plan, timeline, scope, and deliverables for the Cerner to Epic migration. Define governance structure, facilitate steering committee meetings, and provide project reporting to leadership. Establish risk management, issue tracking, and escalation pathways. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with clinical, revenue cycle, IT, and operational leaders to define project requirements and success metrics. Coordinate with Epic implementation teams, legacy Cerner support teams, and third-party vendors. Serve as the primary point of contact between the PMO, Epic implementation team, and internal stakeholders. Execution & Coordination Oversee day-to-day project management activities, including task tracking, scheduling, and resource allocation. Ensure alignment across application analysts, conversion teams, interface/integration teams, and testing coordinators. Monitor deliverables, dependencies, and risks across all project workstreams. Testing, Training, & Cutover Support the planning and execution of cross-project testing (unit, integrated, UAT, regression). Coordinate end-user training scheduling and readiness tracking. Lead cutover planning, including mock go-lives, downtime procedures, and command center setup. Go-Live & Stabilization Manage go-live command center activities, including staffing, issue resolution, and executive updates. Support post-go-live stabilization and optimization phases. Track KPIs and lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement. Qualifications Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, IT, Project Management, or related field required. PMP, CPHIMS, or Epic Project Management certification Experience: 5+ years of project management experience in healthcare IT. Proven track record managing EHR migrations or large Epic implementations. Strong familiarity with Cerner and Epic workflows, data conversion, and testing cycles. Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and large-scale IT budgets. Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across clinical, technical, and executive teams. Strong organizational and planning abilities with a focus on risk/issue management. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience managing a Cerner to Epic migration project. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance, and data governance (HIPAA, CMS, Joint Commission). Familiarity with Epic implementation methodologies (NVT, IST, cutover, readiness reviews). Experience with vendor management and third-party consulting groups.
