We are seeking an Epic Conversion Analyst to support data migration efforts during our Epic implementation. This role will focus on extracting, transforming, validating, and loading (ETL) data from legacy EHRs and ancillary systems into Epic, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and compliance throughout the conversion process. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Epic data conversion projects, knowledge of healthcare data standards, and the ability to collaborate with technical teams, Epic application analysts, and clinical/business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Data Extraction & Mapping Extract data from legacy systems (e.g., Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, custom applications) for migration into Epic. Map legacy data fields to Epic data structures (patient demographics, encounters, orders, results, billing, clinical documentation, etc.). Collaborate with Epic application analysts to ensure accurate data mapping that aligns with Epic workflows. Data Validation & Testing Perform data validation and reconciliation between legacy systems and Epic environments. Develop and execute test scripts for conversion accuracy and integrity. Support integrated testing (IST) and user acceptance testing (UAT) for migrated data. System Build & Support Work with Epic conversion tools (e.g., Chronicles, Clarity, ETL processes, Epic conversion utilities). Configure Epic conversion bridges/interfaces as required. Collaborate with technical teams to troubleshoot data issues and refine conversion scripts. Project Collaboration Partner with Epic application teams, interface/integration teams, and data governance groups. Document conversion requirements, mapping logic, test results, and resolution of issues. Support go-live activities, including data validation, cutover planning, and post-go-live remediation. Compliance & Quality Ensure data conversion meets HIPAA, security, and compliance standards. Maintain data integrity and audit logs throughout the conversion lifecycle. Qualifications Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Epic Data Conversion/Bridges certification or training strongly preferred. Experience: 2-5 years of healthcare IT experience, with at least 1-2 Epic implementation or migration projects. Experience with data conversion, ETL tools, SQL, and healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD, etc.). Familiarity with Epic Chronicles and Clarity data models preferred. Skills: Strong analytical and data validation skills. Ability to troubleshoot conversion issues and work across application and technical teams. Excellent communication and documentation skills for both technical and clinical audiences. Ability to work under tight timelines in large-scale implementation projects. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience with Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, or other legacy EHRs and their data structures. Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server for data extraction/validation. Prior experience in Epic cutover planning and go-live conversion support. Knowledge of healthcare data governance and compliance standards.
