Job Title: Pharmacist Specialty: Clinical Pharmacy (Ambulatory Care Focus) Site: Mescalero Service Unit (MSU) Location: 318 Abalone Loop, Mescalero, NM 88340 Duration: 1 year contract with possibility of 4 years extension Shift Schedule: Rotational, General shifts License / Certifications Required Licensure: Active pharmacy license in any U.S. state. Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Education Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or equivalent. Minimum Qualification / Experience Experience in ambulatory clinical pharmacy preferred. Able to read/interpret prescriptions, dose calculations, compound medications. Must have experience with medication therapy management, patient counseling, and EHR systems. Must demonstrate competency with immunization protocols and drug utilization reviews. Responsibilities Dispense medications accurately and interpret prescriptions. Provide medication therapy management including counseling and education. Evaluate patient compliance and treatment efficacy. Participate in COVID-19 vaccinations and medication distribution. Screen for drug interactions and assess prescription appropriateness. Maintain legal documentation of controlled substances and medical records. Attend departmental meetings and contribute to patient care planning. Document all encounters in MSU's Electronic Health Record (EHR). Follow all MSU, CMS, HIPAA, and AAAHC standards. Adhere to IHS policies including the Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Act. Respond to emergency situations as appropriate (e.g., CPR, Code Blue).
