Job Title: Capacity Engineer Location: Charlotte, NC, and Plano, TX Work Arrangement: Onsite Client Industry: Banking Duration:12-18 Months (Possibility of Full-Time Conversion) About the Role: We are seeking a Capacity Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring system reliability, scalability, and performance across enterprise platforms. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skills, and business acumen to assess capacity demands, forecast usage, and advise on infrastructure readiness. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with monitoring tools, data-driven forecasting, and ITIL-based capacity management best practices. Key Responsibilities: Participate in multiple projects, delivering on capacity and performance-related responsibilities. Review technical project documentation to identify potential capacity and performance impacts. Consult with and advise project teams on performance and capacity considerations. Collaborate with infrastructure and application support teams to develop forecasts and capacity models. Review and interpret saturation test results and artifacts (AppDynamics, DynaTrace, Splunk, SAR/vmstat, Perf Center, application logs). Support business-as-usual (BAU) capacity activities, including compliance with audit requirements. Provide executive-level summaries and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership. Act as a trusted advisor on performance improvements across systems and applications. Contribute to knowledge sharing, best practices, and team collaboration. What We’re Looking For: 3–5+ years of IT Capacity Management experience with a focus on mid-range systems & infrastructure. Strong understanding of hardware infrastructure, system architecture, and disaster recovery. Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM), ITIL Capacity Management best practices, and COBIT framework. Hands-on Splunk expertise, including proficiency with regular expressions. Proven experience creating complex, multi-tiered capacity models with failover strategies and thresholds. Solid experience with data analytics and capacity forecasting/modeling. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver executive-level summaries. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field. Compensation: Hourly Rate: $55 – $60 per hour This range reflects base compensation and may vary based on location, market conditions, experience, and candidate qualifications.
