The director cultivates partnerships that build and sustain strategic relationships to support the mission of VOA Mid-States. WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE: The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and five years of successful multi-faceted development experience including major gifts, special events, corporate relations, development of proposals, communications, and public relations. Excellent oral and written co1n1nunications skills; experience collaborating with volunteers and boards is a plus. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Raiser's Edge or similar CRM tools. RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Plan and execute annual major gifts initiatives generating support from individuals, corporations, and foundations meeting agreed upon annual goals. 2. Plan and implement special events which include the annual golf tournament and fundraising dinner. 3. Research, identify, and cultivate new prospects and steward existing donors. 4. In partnership with the Marketing and Communications team manage external affairs: media relations, PR, and co1n1nunity relations activities. 5. Work with program managers in developing proposals to facilitate program support and expansion. 6. Recruit and support Tennessee Advisor Councils to assist in fundraising. 7. Work with program staff state-wide to support community engagement and fundraising efforts across the state. 8. Travel as needed to meet with RRS, staff, and Development and Communications Team. 9. Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) duties as assigned by supervision & PQI Committee.
