Field Service Technician As a field service technician in the Richland, WA area you will travel daily to customer sites to install scientific instruments and provide hands on technical support, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair electron microscopes for clients. Field Service Responsibilities: Install new or modified electron microscopes at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications Independently diagnose and repair electron microscopes within the territory Review reports and documentation from customers and inspect malfunctioning instrument to determine nature and scope of problem Communicate with clients, vendors, supervisors and any other persons or organizations with whom interaction is required to accomplish work Resolve problems with affected instrument or prepare a report of findings and recommendations Consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in resolving problems Provide on-site technical assistance to troubleshoot and repair equipment Complete and submit field service reports and weekly expense reports Field Service Requirements: An Associate’s degree in engineering and/or science from an accredited college or university; plus 6+ months electronics or related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent customer service skills Hands-on technical experience with installation and repair of equipment Knowledge of and ability to apply analog, digital, and RF electronics A basic understanding of troubleshooting techniques and approaches A valid driver's license and passport are required Up to 30% overnight travel is anticipated JEOL offers: 2 week training program 401K plan with a match Company car Opportunities for advancement About JEOL: Since 1949, the JEOL legacy has been one of providing solutions for innovation. Hourly Minimum: $28.00 - Hourly Maximum $32.00 The base range above represents the low and high end of the JEOL salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
