System Technician Security Systems Department Location - In-Office/Field Work Policy This role requires the employee to work primarily on-site at customer locations with occasional office time. Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Technician to join our fast-growing and dynamic team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, and support of advanced electronic security systems, requiring technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. The System Technician will play a critical role in delivering high-quality service to our customers. Your day-to-day activities will include system installation and maintenance, configuration of sophisticated security devices, and providing technical support to ensure optimal system performance. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise-level security systems and be passionate about providing excellent customer service while working in diverse industrial environments. Duties and Responsibilities •Install and maintain enterprise-level access control systems, video management systems, and intrusion detection systems (IDS) •Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure system functionality and reliability •Configure and test IP-based video management and access control systems •Program, activate, and commission security systems, ensuring optimal performance •Diagnose and resolve technical issues on-site and remotely •Ensure systems meet customer specifications and industry standards •Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to determine installation requirements •Follow safety protocols, especially when working in high-risk environments such as chemical plants •Adhere to local electronic security codes and industry standards •Service high-end integrated security devices and systems •Provide excellent customer service and communicate system functions to clients •Collaborate with customers to address concerns and deliver tailored solutions •Maintain detailed project documentation and progress reports •Communicate project status and technical issues to management and clients Required Experience/Skills •Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field, or equivalent work experience •2+ years of experience in the installation and maintenance of electronic security systems (enterprise-level preferred) •Experience with access control and video management systems •Knowledge of intrusion detection systems, both fiber and copper-based •Proficiency in networking and IT concepts, including IP-based systems •Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) •Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal manner to employees and customers •Strong problem-solving and communication skills •Positive attitude and willingness to interact with customers, co-workers, and other personnel at all times •Commitment to integrity and Company Standards and Procedures •Strong attention to detail and accuracy •Valid driver's license and ability to safely operate company vehicle •Familiarity with local electronic security codes and industry standards Nice-to-Haves •Experience with Software House, Genetec, ProWatch, Lenel, Avigilon, Milestone, and OnSSI systems •Access Control System Vendor Certifications (Software House, Genetec, Open Options, ProWatch, Lenel) •Video Management System Vendor Certifications (Genetec, OnSSI, MaxPro, Milestone, Avigilon) •Intrusion Detection System Vendor Certifications •Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or other design tools •TWIC cardholder status •Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in high-risk environments •Previous experience in industrial or chemical plant security systems •Advanced experience in computer operating systems and network design/implementation Education Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Technical certifications in security systems or related field preferred.
