Overview

CVP assists federal civilian agencies with the implementation of large-scale marcomms initiatives. We are looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to support our growing strategic marketing and communications projects. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in graphic design across a variety of mediums, including experience in supporting federal, state or local government clients.

The Graphic Designer collaborates closely on a small team at a secure government site in Suitland, Maryland. This is an opportunity to directly engage with maritime clients to brainstorm, collaborate, design, and deliver client products for internal and external audiences. The Graphic Designer will translate products for optimal display across a variety of mediums, including print, PDF, social media, web, and video formats. They will be familiar with modern standards for accessibility and / or Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, its requirements, and how to appropriately design products to maximize accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Producing engaging graphics, infographics, reports, templates, presentations, and other visual communications products.
  • Conceiving and designing marketing, publication, digital, print, and motion graphic assets for use across various media (e.g., social media, web, video, print, and OOH).
  • Distilling complex information into compelling visual stories.
  • Staying current with design and visual communications trends.
  • Conceptualizing digital production and design initiatives, and developing promotional, technical, informational, and event-driven artistic comprehensives.
  • Assessing and analyzing methods and using resources and skills toward meeting project media production.
  • Creating graphical depictions of intelligence products and data visualizations to produce visual productions of strategy and mission concepts.
  • Generating digital graphics including trifolds, posters, event programs, invitations, book covers, charts, maps, banners, and other visual products.
  • Operating across desktop, computer art design, web and graphical design, geographical interpretations, and production contexts.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver high-quality visuals for internal and external audiences.
  • Ensuring accessibility and compliance with 508 standards where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret security clearance is required; must be eligible to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in fine arts, design, visual communications, or related field.
  • More than five years of graphic design experience, including work with government clients or capable of sophisticated design and branding representative of a government agency.
  • Portfolio of diverse digital and print design products.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and others), CorelDraw, and MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of production and rendering methods using Adobe After Effects and related tools.
  • Ability to operate Mac and Windows platforms and manage printers and other peripherals.
  • Strong ability to translate abstract concepts into effective visuals across multiple media and audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical staff and customers.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience with 508-compliance and accessible design practices.

  • Attention to detail, creative problem solving, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus.
