Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Human Resources Generalist 1, located in Cleveland, OH, with some work-from-home acceptable. The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for managing HR policies, overseeing employee benefits, and administering benefits programs. The role includes handling day-to-day HR management tasks, supporting employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in full-cycle recruiting including job postings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee experience.
- Maintain HR records, employee files, and compliance documentation.
- Respond to employee questions and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and leave management.
- Support employee engagement and culture-building activities.
- Coordinate, track, and occasionally facilitate 1-on-1 check-ins between employees and managers to strengthen communication and support professional growth.
- Help ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws.
- Collaborate with leadership on HR projects, including performance management, training initiatives, and company policy development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ year of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience (internships and part-time roles considered).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Knowledge of HR laws and best practices is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment with shifting priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; HRIS experience is a bonus.
- A proactive, team-oriented, and resourceful mindset.
Compensation
Competitive entry-level salary range of 55k-75k with benefits package [401k, health, dental, vision, PTO, etc.].
