About the Role
Kodiak Labor Solutions is hiring an HR Generalist in Houston to support its rapidly growing workforce. This position will initially be primarily remote due to office space limitations, with an expectation to transition to a hybrid/in-office schedule once a Kodiak office location is established. This role will focus heavily on workers’ compensation claims management, while also providing comprehensive HR support across compliance, onboarding, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer workers’ compensation claims from intake to closure; coordinate with employees, insurance providers, and legal when needed.
- Oversee I-9 compliance, E-Verify, and employment eligibility documentation.
- Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations processes.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain accurate employee files.
- Partner with managers on employee relations and performance management issues.
- Provide leave administration support (FMLA, ADA).
- Assist with recruitment logistics and candidate communications.
- Contribute to HR initiatives as Kodiak expands in Houston and nationally.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of HR Generalist or related HR experience.
- Strong experience managing workers’ compensation claims.
- Knowledge of I-9 and immigration compliance regulations.
- Strong understanding of state and federal HR laws and policies.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
