The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in a telemetry or progressive care unit setting. This is an exciting opportunity for first-time travelers, as we welcome professionals who are eager to broaden their nursing experience. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, documenting rhythms accurately within established protocols.- Administer medications and manage IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and non-titratable drips including Amiodarone and Diltiazem.- Provide care for patients requiring peritoneal dialysis and management of chest tubes (Emerson/Pleuravac).- Respond effectively to emergency situations as a member of the code team, acting as recorder and timekeeper.- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to care for diverse patient populations, including those with CHF, COPD, MI, sepsis, pneumonia, and stroke.- Float within the hospital based on staffing needs, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to patient acuity protocols.- Maintain accurate records and utilize the Cerner charting system for efficient documentation. Required Qualifications: - Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.- Proficient in cardiac telemetry and management of dysrhythmias.- Strong skills in central line care and management as well as peripheral line care.- Experience interpreting ABGs and providing non-invasive airway management.- Ability to manage high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and tracheostomy care.- Comfortable administering care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Patient Care Details: - Daily patient census of 36, with 40 beds available.- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, increasing to 1:5 based on patient acuity, with potential up to 1:6 in non-telemetry settings.
