This pivotal role focuses on maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that keeps Virginia's transportation system running safely and efficiently.
About the Role:
As an ITS Technician, you will be instrumental in the installation, maintenance, and enhancement of essential traffic control systems and electronic devices. Your expertise will ensure that vital equipment such as traffic signals, message signs, CCTV systems, and communication technologies operate smoothly and effectively. Key Responsibilities: Diagnose, repair, and maintain various electronic and traffic control equipment. Service and upgrade ITS infrastructure including CCTV systems, traffic signals, and associated control systems. Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to optimize system functionality. Utilize management software for work orders and inventory to maintain accurate records. Provide hands-on support in troubleshooting, installation, and network communication repairs in the field. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 3 years of practical experience with ITS, traffic control systems, and wireless technologies. Strong troubleshooting, programming, and repair abilities. Familiarity with computers, telemetry, and fiber optic technology.
