Overview
Position: Traffic Engineer, Atlas Technical Consultants, LLC, Chicago, IL. Responsibilities
Conduct traffic studies and analyze traffic data to determine patterns and trends. Develop transportation plans and design transportation systems that improve safety and mobility, including but not limited to traffic signals, signal systems, ITS, signs and markings. Develop traffic signal timing and programming plans. Assist with the preparation of project budgets and schedules. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies and community organizations. Provide technical support and guidance to project teams. Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects. Stay up-to-date with advances in transportation/traffic engineering and technology. Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed. Travel up to 10% domestically to field sites. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering plus 12 months of experience with traffic engineering, technical or report writing, Federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Microstation, Vissim, HCS, or Synchro. Valid driver's license. Salary and Benefits
